Formed in London in 1967, Pentangle became one of the most innovative and influential bands of the British folk revival, blending traditional folk with jazz, blues, rock and intricate acoustic musicianship.

The original line-up featured Jacqui McShee, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Danny Thompson and Terry Cox, producing landmark albums including The Pentangle, Sweet Child and Basket of Light. After splitting in 1973, the band reunited several times, but it is McShee who has carried the name forward. Since the 1990s, Jacqui McShee’s Pentangle has continued to tour, reinterpreting the classic repertoire while developing the band’s distinctive sound for new generations.
