The Blockheads, an iconic British rock band, emerged from the vibrant punk scene of the 1970s with their eclectic sound and irreverent lyrics. Formed as Ian Dury and the Blockheads, they achieved widespread acclaim with their debut album, "New Boots and Panties!!" blending funk, punk, and rock elements. Renowned for their tight musicianship and Dury's distinctive vocals, tracks like "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick" became anthems of the era. Despite lineup changes, The Blockheads have endured, continuing to captivate audiences with their energetic live performances and a catalogue of hits that defy categorization, cementing their status as true musical mavericks.

Line Up

SEX & DRUGS & ROCK ‘N’ ROLL, HIT ME WITH YOUR RHYTHM STICK, SWEET GENE VINCENT, REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL PART 3… LEGENDARY IAN DURY & THE BLOCKHEADS HAD HIT RECORDS ALL OVER THE WORLD IN THE 70S AND 80S. AFTER DURY SADLY PASSED AWAY IN THE YEAR 2000, THE BLOCKHEADS KEPT ON PLAYING THE UK YEAR AFTER YEAR. SMALL PUBS AND BIG FESTIVALS (GLASTONBURY), NO PREFERENCES. THEY PERFORM IAN DURY SONGS AS WELL AS SOME ORIGINAL BLOCKHEADS TUNES. KEYWORD IS RESPECT. THIS IS NOT A CHEAP TRIBUTE BAND THAT MAINLY PAYS TRIBUTE TO THEIR BANK ACCCOUNTS. NOPE, IT’S ONE OF THE BEST BANDS AROUND, AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL LINE UP (CHAS JANKEL, MICKEY GALLAGHER AND WICKED BASS PLAYER NORMAN WATT-ROY), PLAYING SWINGING ROCK ‘N’ ROLL YOU HAVEN’T HEARD IN QUITE A TIME.
