Glam Bam - Glam-Rock tribute night
Glam Bam
Glam Bam plays music from the 70’s, covering bands such as Slade, The Sweet, T Rex, David Bowie and many more from this magnificent point in time. Our aim is to be as authentic and true to this period as possible, hence the ridiculous dress sense. The Band members are -
NODDY HOLDALL - BASS AND VOCALS Noddy became a team member early after the band’s inception, bringing with him a remarkable talent for filling the gaps. Born in 1965, he comes directly from the bloodline of 70’s Glam Rockers (he does), thus giving another edge of authenticity to the GlamBam! experience. He also can sing so high that the canine community are already pinning his picture to their kennels. For Cozy and Dave, he epitomises that well-known phrase – ‘A bass player is not just for Christmas, a bass player is for life’.
COZY LEABA (pronounced Bed) DRUMS AND OCCASIONAL VOCALS Possibly born in 1961, Cozy has returned to Glam Rock, following a 50-year dalliance with less significant music genres. In the early 1970s, Cozy’s life revolved around Peter Frampton and all things Glam and Glam revolved around him (his bedroom wall was plastered with posters). However, all was not well, as his head was turned by the music of the Sex Pistols and Dr Feelgood in the late 1970s, which goes a long way to explaining his poor hearing. But all good things come to those who wait, and Cozy has finally re-discovered his love of Glam, though his family and friends aren’t sure what to make of his fashion choices. He joins GlamBam! after being discovered by Noddy rhythmically hitting things on a farm in Kent. Cozy says, “Glam was my first love” and “I like to hit stuff”.
DAVE HILL (BILLY) GUITAR AND VOCALS Guitar Superstar Dave Hill (Billy) has agreed to join Glam Bam under duress; with a background in Prog Rock and Coldplay, Glam was always going to be a bit of a shock to the system. Regardless, he’s now seen the light and has joined our ‘Glamorous’ band. Dave has most recently been playing, throughout Kent, in a band with a long-term cardiac affliction and, as a guitarist with significant swagger, he fits right in; be prepared for histrionics. Dave says, “Please don’t make me do this unless I get to dress up!”
