The Skatonics
The Skatonics have been playing to enthusiastic crowds across England since 2007 and this 9-piece band has been mooted as one of the best Ska Tribute bands in the UK. They blend classic Trojan Ska (Toots and The Maytals, Desmond Dekker etc) alongside an impressive catalogue of Two Tone covers from the likes of The Specials, Madness, Bad Manners, The Selecter and more.
Their 2 hour shows have included support slots for Ska originals Neville Staples of The Specials, Rhoda Dhakar of The Bodysnatchers, The Beat and Skaville UK. They were handpicked to open the inaugral 'Skabour' Festival in 2009 and have gone on to headline the event in subsequent years.
Most recently The Skatonics received a rapturous reception at the East of England BMF Motorbike show, playing to an audience of 3500 people. They were also the headline attraction at a charity event which took place at the Metropolitan Police Club, Bexley, and helped to raise over 30,000 for local families who had lost relatives in the recent conflicts.
The Skatonics offer a full 2 hour set of music and their line-up, including keyboards and a brass section, ensures that the original sounds are kept intact. They also dress the part, Tonic Suits, Trilby hats etc, which helps to fully complete the experience.
All members of the Skatonics have many years experience of playing on the corporate and private entertainment circuit and the band are able to supply professional PA and Sound Re-inforcement equipment as necessary for their performances.
