The Forum presents JESCA HOOP plus guests

California-born but now based in  Manchester, UK, Jesca Hoop is what you’d call a musician’s musician. Discovered by Tom Waits, and brought on tour by Peter Gabriel to sing in his band, it was a phone call from Elbow’s Guy Garvey that saw her move to the UK. Her most recent album “Stonechild”,  produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding, This is the Kit), received huge acclaim from fans and critics alike, and it’s easy to see why: her beautiful songs, rooted in the folk tradition are intricately detailed, acoustic-led pieces that teem with ideas.

Website Rooted in British songwriting traditions of the 60s/70s coffee house scene, Izzie’s songs tell stories woven into musically rich pieces, which nod to a childhood spent listening to classical, Jazz, and . Live, this becomes a performance that is both bold and powerfully vulnerable.

Her publicly-funded debut EP was recorded with producer Dom Monks (, ), (, ) and Nick Pini (, ), released Karousel Buried Treasure/AWAL June 2023. She is currently recording her debut album.

Recently she has received support from PRS Foundation Women in Music and Help Musicians Do it Differently, played festivals including Glastonbury, The Great Escape & Black Deer, and sung backing vocals for and .
