“WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS RIGHT NOW IS SOME GOOD VIDES, SOME POSITIVE ENERGY, SOME UPLIFTING MELODIES” - CLASH

“THE MODERN STRANGERS TAKE POP MUSIC, DISCARD ANYTHING FALLING BELOW THE STANDARD LEVELS OF SASS, AND SMASH FUN AND CLASS INTO WHATEVER IS LEFT.” - METRO

Fronted by brothers Max & Archie Davenport, the Tunbridge Wells band first sprang to life off the back of debut single 'Vanilla', earning them early support from BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 1. Subsequently self releasing seminal singles 'Hot Rain', 'Margarita' and 'Coco Hello' in the midst of a busy summer of shows. Winning over new fans eager to hear more from their incendiary live set and leading to signing a publishing deal with BMG. Last summer saw them hitting stages across the UK on their first tour, a plethora of festivals (Latitude, Isle of Wight, Standon Calling and The Great Escape amongst others) to their first European dates, supporting Flor, including shows in Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam (along with a headline set for Gibraltar's National Day celebrations).

Following on from the band's debut EP 'Meltdown Mechanics' released in June last year to wide support from key blogs, tastemakers and streaming platforms (clocking up over a million plays on Spotify), the band have been working on tracks in LA with their producer Gordon Mills Jr, ready to unleash their sophomore EP.

2019 saw them start the year with sell out shows in London, Manchester and Coventry, along with being picked by Annie Mac for her first "Future sounds" feature of the year and Jack Saunder's "Next Wave"; further showing the band to be far more than just algorithm approved purveyors of perfect guitar pop.(You can’t fault scientific research, see the cliphere) Their unique brand of spiralling, euphoric electronic indie pop is continuing to inject a sense of fun back into guitar music.
