Jamie Lenman entered the UK underground scene with his band Reuben in 2001 and spent the next eight years touring, recording and releasing records. The band developed a loyal following thanks to their intense live shows, inventive promo videos and honest approach to both their music and their fanbase. They soon found themselves in the middle of a thriving post-hardcore scene with bands such as Hundred Reasons, Biffy Clyro and Frank Turner’s Million Dead, and embarked on a triumphant European tour with Billy Talent.

Signing a deal with the fledgling Xtra Mile label, their singles regularly topped the MTV2 charts and Radio One picks. After releasing their third album on their own label and a career-defining main-stage set at Download Festival, the band called it a day citing exhaustion and Lenman returned to his first love, illustration.

In 2011, after over a year without playing any music, Lenman began working on an ambitious double solo album of folk/blues and thrash metal, which was released on Xtra Mile in 2013 to critical acclaim. After a dazzling live tour featuring a three-piece brass section, Lenman returned again to his illustration work and began recording new music with Prodigy and Idles producer Space in his Guildford hideout.

Lenman’s new material sees him return to his post-hardcore roots of soaring melodies over huge riffs, only this time with an emphasis on danceable rhythms and digital elements. His first single to display this approach, Mississippi, was ecstatically received across the board, reaching Number One on the iTunes Rock charts and making Rockest Record on BBC Radio One.

He shortly signed with indie giants Big Scary Monsters and is currently preparing for a UK tour as well as completing his forthcoming album.
