HEAVY LUNGS + PLACID
Entry Requirements: 18+
**Born from friendship, Heavy Lungs formed in the Spring of 2017 and set sights for loud, agile performance. With influences ranging from Gøggs to Iceage, Oh Sees to Tyler The Creator, the band translate the chaos in their heads into music that has heart and heat.
The four-piece have only played a handful of shows and have already opened for the likes of METZ, closed Simple Things Festival with a furious set at Sportmans in Bristol and were hand picked to support IDLES at the end of last year.
After the release of their debut Ep 'Abstract Thoughts' the boys are going from strength to strength, even copping airtime with Steve Lamacq's BBC 6music recommends as well as appearing as guests on Nadine Shah’s Soho Radio show.**
'Their three-and-a-half-minute introduction to the world ‘Poster Boy’ arrived like a missile of early eighties punk recently. There’s a refreshing disinterest in self-promotion or trundling the tedious social media route with these guys.'– NME
'Front man Danny Nedelko performs with the urgency of an individual who’s just been told its his last day on earth' – CRACK MAGAZINE
'Heavy Lungs are embracing all things gritty and intense. ‘Stutter’ from the band’s debut EP, begins with a foreboding riff backed by intense, heavy breathing, before folding out into a crazed offering , which feels like its falling apart at the seams in the best possible way. It’s an invigorating first step' – DIY MAGAZINE
'Imagine Iceage going toe to toe with Minor Threat and early Black Flag, this is raw, uncompromising punk rock' – HMV’s Next Big Thing
'Like a test tube of frustration' – Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music Recommends
