Paperfriend are an energetic emo band from Maidstone whose sound is heavily inspired by rock music released in the early to mid noughties.

The band’s debut album Foreign Lives (released June 2018) is a collection of songs that tell a story about battling your demons, based on real life experiences of vocalist and guitarist Dean Ince.

The band have previously shared a stage with bands such as Carousel Kings (Victory Records), Home Wrecked (Primordial Records) and Milestones (Fearless Records), as well as performing at iconic venues such as The Forum, Tunbridge Wells and New Cross Inn, London.

Line Up

Paperfriend are an alternative band from Maidstone blending elements of emo and power pop. The band are influenced by British alternative bands such as Biffy Clyro, Deaf Havana and Twin Atlantic. The songs are infectious and dynamic, and the live performances are energetic and fun.

Founding members Dean Ince (vocals/guitar) and Matt Ladbrooke (bass) started the band in 2015 with Chris Johnson (drums) joining a year later. It took the band a while to find their sound but in 2017 they released their latest EP ‘Songs We Wrote At Home’, which started to resonate with live audiences in a way their previous material never did. ‘Songs We Wrote At Home’ helped Paperfriend to achieve their finest year as a band and grow immeasurably as a live act.

The next step for Paperfriend is the full length album - the band successfully ran a Kickstarter campaign earlier this year to help with the costs of getting the record pressed to CD and limited edition vinyl. The album, called ‘Foreign Lives’, is released on June 8th and is the next chapter in Paperfriend’s short but eventful history so far.

Phill Vidler and The Farseers are an indie alternative band based in London with an emphasis on lyricism and catchy melodies. Headed up by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Phill Vidler, their inspirations range from The Killers to David Bowie, from The Smiths to Electric Light Orchestra, from The 1975 to Queen, and beyond. So far, they’ve released a full length album, Heliotropic, and an EP, L For Lisa, boasting singles from both releases such as “Heliotropic”, “Letters” (as featured on ITV’s ‘This Morning’), “L For Lisa” and “Stranger”. Vidler is currently hard at work at the third Farseers instalment, with the working title of “The Graduate”.

Frass are a three piece alternative rock band from the South East of England. They have taken inspiration from bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood and Muse. Having just released their debut EP ‘Not Our Saviour’ in January 2018, they are now starting to book in gigs for the rest of the year.
