Flood by Jess Mookherjee In these poems, Jessica Mookherjee inhabits several identities in her ‘bone-framed coat’. With overarching themes of migration, otherness, sexual awakening, maternal mental illness, the impact of catastrophe, of loss and being lost, Flood is a debut collection from a genuine virtuoso with a powerful original voice. http://www.culturedllama.co.uk/books/flood

I am a Spoken word poet and playwright from Brighton and am currently in my first year at Goldsmiths University, London. I deal with topics such as the impact of politics on youth culture, urban lifestyles and working class values. I and am the 2012 & 2013 Hammer and Tongue Brighton Slam Champion, ranking 5th nationally. I have performed my poetry at venues nationwide including venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Roundhouse Theatre, the Southbank Centre and the Birmingham Rep. I have worked with Channel 4 to produce the TV series 'Four to the Floor' and my one man show 'A Day In The Life' received a sell-out crowd at the Brighton Komedia.

I have also written plays that have been performed at the Chichester Festival Theatre and London's Unicorn Theatre among other venues.
