Grunge escaping Seattle. Punk without the safety pins. Heavy music you can dance to. MUFFIN are the answer to the question, ‘what happens if you put all of that, mix it in a pot with Indie Rock and Alternative, and throw is a lot of sweat and ginger hair?’ It’s explosive, energetic, catchy, and chaotic. It’s anthemic sing-along choruses spliced with attitude, snarling guitars, and questionable hairstyles. To put it simply: it’s just MUFFIN. With 2017 coming to a close with sold-out gigs at Sheffield’s Café Totem and London’s Camden Assembly, and 2018 opening with a debut EP labelled “hugely impressive - complex and dynamic” (Local Sound Focus), and a sell-out 360 Club Leeds for Independent Venue Week, MUFFIN’s year is sure to be as exciting as their live shows.

Taking influences from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Fizzy Blood, and Audioslave, MUFFIN offer “a bass-heavy sound, dynamic tempo changes and jangling guitars, which meet danceable, hymnic choruses” (JMC Magazine). With a new line-up, and having worked with producer Dominic Richmond at Eiger Studios, the 5-piece have developed a sound that rightly highlights their ability to create music that both makes you want to dance and sing, but also to let loose and get stuck in. With recent airplay on BBC Introducing West Yorkshire, and being a part of This Feeling’s AVALANCHE PARTY show on April 14th, momentum from the EP is translating to both more and more exciting gig opportunities, as well as the desire to get new music out. The band’s next single will be recorded in late May, and will be released to support their growing list of summer dates.

“To describe something like this as being simply ‘grunge’ is way too modest […] This isn’t just a song, it’s a drama, a drama that takes place over three and a half minutes.” Local Sound Focus on ‘Welcome To The Modern Age’.

"If Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age had a baby, they'd call it MUFFIN." Top40 Charts Music News
