Top 5
chris’ top 5 live shows of 2010

LAKE – from portland oregon, this quiet power pop quintet came to
a little town called tunbridge wells and played one of the most uplifting sets
that has been played in a long time. Genuinely some of the nicest people we have met
and we look forward to having them back

CASIOKIDS – having played here about a year before, we had high expectations that this
show was going to be incredible but they surpassed that! They played an absolute scorcher of a set.
A non stop set of indie disco the way it SHOULD be done. There wasnt a body in the building that wasnt dancing.

THE BLACK ATLANTIC – from a band that features an ex member of one of the most popular hardcore bands in the world, Shai Hulud
we weren’t sure what we were going to get but in terms of folk performances this was one of the most sincere intimate shows
I can remember seeing, not only this year but probably ever. I urge anyone who has the chance to get out and see them.
They ended their set without PA in the round on the floor. GEnuinely mesmerising.

PHILADELPHIA GRAND JURY – now on occasion you get some weird bands in. weird in the sense that you spend half the show trying to
figure out how these people meet and form. Well on this occasion we have 2 australian youths and a 60 year old drummer that used
to play with earth wind and fire. Their pop blues rock attack was immense. For a 3 piece they had the power of 50. We wont forget them
in a while. Tristan, one of our in house engineers…without a doubt the least positive human being this side of the pantiles even went
to watch their show in brighton the following night…THAT is how good they were.

TRASH TALK – carnage! the best word to describe this show. I know you read about this band day in and day out in the music press and I am
sure many of you are not sure what the fuss is about but if you witness this or any of their live sets, they leave you with your jaw on the floor.
From jumping off merch tables, falling out the fire exit, climbing up to the desk, 50 stage divers in one song. You name it, it happened…and they
got the songs to match it. As I sad, CARNAGE.
